(November 2, 2012)—In a showdown for the final spot at the ATP World Tour Finals doubles draw, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna defeated Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-7(5), 6-3, 10-4.

Bhupathi and Bopanna, who were banned from competing for India's Davis Cup team for two years after refusing to partner with Leander Paes at this year's Olympic Games in London, did not face a break point in the second serve, then won all seven points on serve in the match tiebreak.

The all-Indian duo, who came together at the start of 2012 with the Olympics in mind, have one title (Dubai) and two finals (Cincinnati and Shanghai) to their record in 2012.

Fyrstenberg and Matkowski reached the finals in London last year, losing out to Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi in the final.
