(November 10, 2012) -- Mike and Bob Bryan missed out on their chance to win a fourth ATP World Tour finals title on Saturday when Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez of Spain won their final round-robin match on Saturday evening.

The Bryans, who were edged by Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek earlier on Saturday 6-4, 6-7(6), 10-7, needed Lopez and Granollers to lose to qualify for the semifnals.

Stepanek and Paes' victory over the Americans evens the 2012 head-to-head for the teams at three wins apiece.

Stepanek and Paes defeated the Bryans in the Australian Open final, but Mike and Bob turned the tables on the Indian-Czech duo by defeating them in the finals of the U.S. Open.

The Bryans will end the season as the year-end No. 1 team for the eighth time in ten seasons. They won their record-tying 12th Grand Slam in 2012 and also won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. They went 60-13 on the season.
