Mardy Fish would like to emulate Andy Roddick and win a Grand Slam, not to mention become the No. 1 player in the world.

He did an unfortunately spot-on impersonation of Roddick for all the wrong reasons Tuesday at the Australian Open - losing to a lesser opponent and then complaining about it.

Fish was smoked by Colombia's Alejandro Falla 7-6, 6-3, 7-6 in the second round of the first major of the season on Tuesday, then questioned his opponent's tactics after losing.
Falla suffered from cramps in the third set and had his trainer come out twice during changeovers.

Fish queried both the umpire and the tournament official to see if what Fallas did was doing was legal, then addressed it to the media again after the match.

"Third set obviously pretty important knowing that he's struggling, I guess. Maybe not. Maybe that was a ploy. I don't know," Fish said of Falla's ailment.
"Didn't seem like he was having too much trouble during the point. So it was a good tactic on his part. When you think someone is cramping or ailing physically, you sort of change your game a tiny bit."

For being ranked No. 8 in the world, Fish has been a flop at the Grand Slams throughout his career, with only three trips to the quarterfinals in 10 years of majors, and a ho-hum 45-36 record.
