By Erik Gudris

Grigor Dimitrov reaches the semifinals in Gstaad 2012 (July 20, 2012) -- Grigor Dimitrov may not have been selected to carry Bulgaria's flag in the Opening Ceremonies of the Summer Games, but he's probably not that disappointed considering that he's notched his third semifinal showing since June.

At the Credit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad, Dimitrov had no trouble defeating Lukasz Kubot, winning a healthy 79% of his first serves to earn a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Dimitrov will take on a surprise opponent in the semifinals when he faces former champion Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci who defeated No. 5 seed Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-3.

The other semi will feature top seed Janko Tipsarevic who continued his winning ways with an easy 6-2, 6-1 victory over Jan Hernych. Tipsarevic will face France's Paul-Henri Mathieu who dropped the first set against Ernests Gulbis before Mathieu raced away with the second. A rain delay halted play for over an hour in the final set but when play resumed, Mathieu held on to an early break lead to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Haas Reaches Another Semi on German Soil

Germany's Tommy Haas is finding his best results this year in his home country as evidenced by yet another trip to a semifinal, this time at the bet-at-home Open German Tennis Championships in Hamburg.

Haas defeated fellow German Florian Mayer 6-1, 6-4 to set up a meeting tomorrow against Marin Cilic who won in Umag last week. Cilic defeated Spain's Albert Ramos in their quarterfinal 6-4, 7-6(5).

A battle of clay court experts is featured in the other semifinal as Nicolas Almagro booked a showdown with Argentina's Juan Monaco. Almagro defeated Philipp Kohlschrieber 7-5, 7-5 allowing the Spainard to improve to a 46-14 match record on the year. Monaco advanced after beating France's Jeremy Chardy 6-3, 7-5.

Muller Advances to Atlanta Semis For Second Straight Year

At the BB&T Atlanta Open, Luxembourg's Gilles Muller became the first man into the semifinals as his big serve helped him secure a 6-4, 6-4 win over Australia's Matthew Ebden. It marks Muller's second consecutive trip to the final four in Atlanta.
