Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer will be forced to resume their U.S. Open semifinal on Sunday as impending weather forced the evacuation of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Just minutes after Andy Murray won the first men's semi over Tomas Berdych in four hours, Djokovic and Ferrer stepped onto Arthur Ashe Stadium in an attempt to get their match not only started but completed.

With swirling winds still a factor as in the first semi, it was Ferrer who jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Djokovic, who complained several times to chair umpire Carlos Bernardes about the conditions, looked unsure of himself while also attempting drop shot winners against the speedy Ferrer, often with losing results.

Ferrer increased his lead to 5-2, but before he could get a chance to serve out the set, tournament officials announced an immediate evacuation of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center due to impending severe weather.

Djokovic and Ferrer will now have to resume their match tomorrow at 11 a.m. EST. The men's final has now also been rescheduled for Monday at 4:30pm EST. (More: Revised Schedule)
