A meeting between friends and Davis Cup teammates will decide who will be a Wimbledon semifinalist.

Wimbledon: Lisicki, Halep Into Quarterfinals

Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka each advanced through their respective fourth round matches on Tuesday without dropping a set.

The No. 4 seed Federer faced off against No. 23 seed Tommy Robredo of Spain. Though Robredo upset Federer at last year's US Open, there would be no dramatics this time. Federer facing little resistance on his serve, claimed the first two sets. In fact, Federer didn't drop a point on his service game in the second set.

The only difficulty for Federer came in the very last game. Serving for the match up 5-4, Federer faced his first break point all day. Saving that, Federer found himself in several deuces before closing out the 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 win.

Things were a tad testier for Wawrinka in his fourth round match against Spain's Feliciano Lopez. With Lopez entering having defended his Eastbourne title earlier, Wawrinka expected a tough contest.

With strong serving, Wawrinka navigated his way past two tight tiebreaks to earn a two sets to love lead.

Midway through the third set, Wawrinka held up Lopez's serve during a break point due to a noise in the crowd. However, not hearing that, Lopez thought Wawrinka did so intentionally. Wawrinka would go on to break and eventually close out the 7-6(5), 7-6(7), 6-3 win.

But after their handshake, Lopez engaged in a discussion with Wawrinka over the earlier issue that Wawrinka chalked up to a misunderstanding.

Later, Federer talked about playing Wawrinka again.

"It will be amazing to play Stan in the quarter-finals here, hopefully on Centre Court, because things like that don't happen too often in Swiss sport," Federer said to BBC Sport. "I am healthy, things are where I want them to be, but the quarter-finals is really where the tournament starts."

Here's more of what Federer had to say afterwards.

Wawrinka won their last meeting in the Monte Carlo finals earlier this year.
