(September 25, 2011) Second seeded German Florian Mayer defeated fourth seeded Spaniard Pablo Andujar, 6-3, 6-1, capturing the BDR Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Bucharest.  This title win marks his first ever ATP World Tour title and breaks Mayer’s 0-4 losing streak during title matches and marks the first time that a German has ever held this tournament.

The match started off evenly enough, but Mayer soon showed his dominance, winning 8 straight games and bringing him to a 5-0 lead in the second set.

In doubles, Jamie Murray and Andre Sa defeated Lukas Dlouhy and Marcelo Melo 6-4, 7-6(7), marking the first win for the newly joined Scottish-Brazilian team.  They won an impressive 72-percent of their service points.
