Top seed Richard Gasquet of France eased his way into the Aegon International semifinals at Eastbourne.

ATP: Dimitrov and The Sharapova Effect

The newly turned 28-year-old Frenchman had little trouble defeating Slovakian Martin Klizan in their quarterfinal meeting on Thursday. In over an hour, Gasquet advanced 6-3, 6-4.

Gasquet, now into his third semifinal this season, is still in search of his third title at the grass court warm up event. Denis Istomin, who beat France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin 7-6(5), 6-2 will be Gasquet's next opponent.

If Gasquet wins, he will enter his 22nd career ATP Tour final.

Querrey Bests Benneteau to Reach Semis

American Sam Querrey finds himself in his second semifinal this season having beaten another Frenchman left in the draw.

The current World No. 77, Querrey took on Julian Benneteau in their quarterfinal. With both men saving three break points each in the opening set, a tiebreak was required to decide things. Querrey pulled away with the set 7-6(5).

Taking hold of the only break in the second set, Querrey soon completed the 7-6(5), 6-4 win. Eastbourne is now the second semifinal of this year for the former U.S. No.1 who reached the same stage at Houston earlier.

Querrey will next face the winner of the last quarterfinal between defending champion Feliciano Lopez and Jeremy Chardy.
