Lisicki Battles Back to Reach Memphis Finals

Sabine Lisicki overcame an early deficit before advancing to the finals of the U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships.

Sabine Lisicki (February 22nd, 2013) -- Sabine Lisicki reached her second final of the year with a straight sets win at the U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships in Memphis, Tennessee.

Facing 2011 champion and this year's No. 7 seed Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia, Lisicki fell behind an early break of serve in the opening set. Rybarikova soon held a 5-2 lead and served for the set, but Lisicki fought back to level things at 5-all.

Lisicki broke again and claimed the set 7-5.

Though Rybarikova broke Lisicki to start off the second set, her lead didn't last as Lisicki broke back leading to a tight second set. Rybarikova once again had a chance to serve out a set, this time at 5-4, but Lisicki pulled even and then pulled away as she closed out a 7-5, 7-5 win.

It's the second WTA final of the year for Lisicki who early reached the same stage in Thailand earlier this month.

Waiting for Lisicki in the finals will be New Zealand's Marina Erakovic who defeated Stefanie Vogele of Switzerland in the earlier semi 6-2, 6-4.
