Serena Williams (February 15th, 2013) -- Serena Williams reclaimed the WTA No. 1 ranking with an emotional three set over Petra Kvitova in the quarterfinals of the Qatar Tennis Open.

Despite dropping the first set, Williams rallied to take the second set after Kvitova dropped her level of play. But Kvitova stormed out to a 4-1 lead in the final set only to see Williams fight back and break for 6-5.

Williams then served out the match to love with a final ace to seal the 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory. That win will propel Williams to No. 1 in the world when the new WTA rankings are released on Monday.

At age 31, Williams will now become the oldest woman ever to hold the top ranking in women's tennis.

On her Twitter account, Williams sent out the message, "Thanks everyone for all the support. Back to number one and it feels so good. Serena #1."
