(September 16, 2010) Fresh off his second trip to the US Open final in the last three years, Novak Djokovic arrived in Serbia yesterday ready to take full flight this weekend. The World No. 2 will play a pivotal role in Serbia's quest to reach its first Davis Cup final when it hosts 2009 Davis Cup runner-up Czech Republic on a hard court in Belgrade.

A temporary hard court will be laid inside the 16,842-seat Belgrade Arena for the tie.  Djokovic, Janko Tipsarevic, Viktor Troicki, the man who nearly knocked Djokovic out of the US Open first round, and Nenad Zimonjic reprise their roles as Serbian starters.

Czech Republic fortunes will rest on the shoulders of Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek with Ivo Minar and Jan Hajek playing doubles.

Former Australian Open champion Djokovic takes on Stepanek in tomorrow's opening match followed by Tipsarevic vs. Berdych.

Zimonjic, who owns a 23-6 Davis Cup doubles record, partners Troicki in Saturdays's doubles match against Hajek and Minar.

In a rematch of the Wimbledon semifinals, Djokovic plays Berdych in Sunday's reverse singles with Tipsarevic taking on Stepanek in the fifth-and-final match of the tie.

The winner of this semifinal will face either France or Argentina in the December 3- Davis Cup final.

The venue was used in the first round this year when Serbia saw off USA on clay in front of a near capacity crowd to reach its first Davis Cup quarterfinal. The Serbian team has continued to make history by reaching its first semifinal with a decisive win over Croatia in Split.

Czech Republic  holds a 5-4 head-to-head advantage over Serbia however these nations have not faced each other since Czech Republic formed part of Czechoslovakia and Serbia
.
