Ana Ivanovic won an all-Serbian showdown to claim her second title this year at the Abierto Monterrey event in Mexico.

No. 2 seed Ivanovic, who beat Caroline Wozniacki in the semifinals, entered as a big favorite against the surprise player of the event in fellow Serb Jovana Jaksic.

Before the week started, Jaksic had only one main draw win to her credit. With Jaksic advancing to her first ever WTA final against friend Ivanovic on Sunday, it created the first all-Serbian final in WTA history.

Ivanovic got off to a shaky start by dropping serve at love in the opening game. After that, it was clear sailing for Ivanovic who then raced away with the match in just an hour.

Ivanovic would soon close out the convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory.

Monterrey is the second title this season for Ivanovic who earlier won the Auckland tournament back in January. Ivanovic now holds 13 career titles.

"This was history," Jaksic said about the final to WTA.com. "This is a big thing in Serbia and we are both so proud because we love playing for Serbia."

Ivanovic was happy to win the title after losing early in the event last year.

"Last year I lost very early here in Monterrey but I had so much fun that I wanted to come back, so to make it this far this year is amazing," Ivanovic said. "And every title is so special. I had some tough matches this week but I feel so happy to get through each of them, and this title is definitely one of my favorites."
