(November 2, 2010) Seeing Sponge Bob, Shrek and Dora the Explorer float down Sixth Avenue in the Macy's Parade doesn't have to be your sole source of Thanksgiving-time entertainment. You can hang with James Blake, Andy Roddick, Brooklyn, Decker, Michael Jordan, Billie Jean King, John McEnroe and Patrick McEnroe and play ping pong against Blake while contributing to a worthy cause.
Blake will host his annual Serving for A Cure at Lincoln Center in New York City on November 30th.
Former welterweight champion Sugar Ray Leonard and fashion queen and Roger Federer fan Anna Wintour are also scheduled to attend.
The event will feature a live charity auction of sports memorabilia with proceeds benefitting charity. For more information, please visit JamesBlakeTennis.com.
As for Blake's playing plans, he has concluded his 2010 season and will rest and recover before plotting his 2011 schedule. Blake, who was bothered by knee problems for much of the 2010 season that prompted him to publicly consider retirement after his loss at Wimbledon, is "hopeful of starting (2011) in either Brisbane or Adelaide. He has committed to play San Jose," according to his website.
