By Erik Gudris

Bojana Jovanovski (July 28, 2012) -- Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski became the third woman this year to win her maiden WTA title in today's final at the Baku Cup.

Facing a fellow first time WTA finalist in American Julia Cohen, Jovanovski lost the only break point against her in the first set but managed to break Cohen twice to claim the set 6-3.

Despite Cohen serving a healthy 85% first serves for the match, she faced 17 break points and was broken three times in the second set to allow Jovanovski to earn a 6-3, 6-1 win in just over 90 minutes and with it her first ever WTA title.

"It feels so great," Jovanovski later said on the event's website. "I've worked really hard for this. I had two weeks really hard preparation before this tournament so I was expecting to play good here and I`m really glad I did it. I went to the match having nothing to lose. I was so positive and was just trying to fight for every point and not think about win or lose, just to play the point the best I can."
