Kim Clijsters Resumes Practice; Changes Team

(May 27, 2010) A lingering left foot injury caused Kim Clijsters to withdraw from the French Open. The reigning US Open champion has been cleared to resume practice and plans to play Eastbourne on June 14th and Wimbledon, starting June 21st.

The grass-court Grand Slam is the only major where Clijsters has yet to reach the final.

"Just left the hospital. I can slowly start practicing again but still need to pay attention after every practice! Yeah!!!" Clijsters tweeted.

Clijsters' management company, Golazo, announced changes to Clijsters' management team.

All commercial contacts will be handled by Lotte Vanreusel, while Gert Van Goolen will oversee national and international press and PR.

Former WTA Tour communications exec John Dolan, who handled the press and international tour contacts since Clijsters resumed her career, will continue to work as an independent tennis consultant for Golazo.

"We want to thank John for the work he has done this past year, and we're looking forward to working with him on some of our tennis events", said Golazao's Bob Verbeeck. "Just as we do for all our other athletes, we are centralizing national and international press and commercial contacts into one team."
