Kuznetsova Pulls Out Of Mercury Insurance Open

(July 27, 2011) World No. 12 Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia has withdrawn from next week’s Mercury Insurance Open, where she is defending champion.
"Sorry guys, I have to say I won’t defend my title in San Diego and very sad about it," Kuznetsova announced on her Twitter.
She is the third high profile player to withdraw from the tournament. Defending U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters and Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova withdrew last week.
