Martinez Sanchez, Mayr-Achleitner In Bad Gastein Semifinals

(July 15, 2011) Spain's Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez defeated Yvonne Meusburger 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3 in a lengthy match, two hours, 47 minute match at Friday's NUREMBERG Gastein Ladies quarterfinals.
Meusburger lead the first set against Martinez Sanchez up 5- 2 with two breaks and again at 6-5 but lost the tie-break 5-7. Also set two and set three run similarly adjusted.
The World No. 54 Spaniard took a 3-1 lead in the third and the Austrian World No. 130 failed to break eleven of 16 opportunities.
Meusburger admitted to the Associated press, "After my 5-2 lead in the first sentence Martinez Sanchez became much stronger, since I was a bit surprised. I must say that she then has pitched balls in my break in the third set always good. Of course I'm disappointed, but I am also very many positive things with. "
World No. 109 Patricia Mayr-Achleitner of Austria dominated Bulgarian Dia Evtimova 6-2, 6-2 in 63 minutes.
She was able to win 76 percent of her first serve points and took advantage of Evtimova's serve by breaking five of six times.
Mayr-Achleitner commented on the match to the Associated Press, "I am very satisfied. I've always had the feeling that I'm the better. It was not my day conditions, the place was deep. It is my second semi-final at a WTA tournament, but at home it is of course even more beautiful. In the semifinals I was against both potential opponents a chance against Pervak I've even recently, 6:1, 6:0 victory."
Two more quarterfinals will be played between Laura Pous-Tio versus Ksenia Pervak and Carla Suarez Navarro versus Kateryna Bondarenko. Their results will determine the semifinal matches to be played on Saturday afternoon.
