By Tennis Now Staff
Federer US Open (August 23, 2012)--Roger Federer and Andy Murray could meet again in New York. The 2012 Wimbledon champion and the 2012 Olympic champion were drawn into the same half of the men's singles draw today at the US Open Draw Ceremony in New York.

Federer, a five-time US Open champion and top seed, won his 17th Grand Slam earlier in the year. Murray, who has lost all four Grand Slam finals he has played, is more confident than ever after his Olympic gold medal-winning performance.

Murray will face Alex Bogomolov Jr. in the first-round, while Federer will face Donald Young. Defending champion Novak Djokovic will face Paolo Lorenzi of Italy in the first round.

Murray owns a careeer head-to-head edge of 9-8 over Federer.

Possible quarterfinals match-ups on the men's side are as follows:

Top Half:

(1) Roger Federer vs. (6) Tomas Berdych
(3) Andy Murray vs. (5) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Bottom Half:

(2) Novak Djokovic vs. (7) Juan Martin del Potro
(4) David Ferrer vs. (8) Janko Tipsarevic

Ninth-seeded American and 2011 quarterfinalist John Isner was drawn into Ferrer's quarter of the draw, along with Brian Baker. Milos Raonic and Kei Nishikori are in Murray's quarter, while Mardy Fish, Sam Querrey and Nicolas Almagro are in Federer's quarter.

In Djokovic's quarter, Juan Martin del Potro will play compatriot David Nalbandian in a heavily anticipated first-round encounter, while Tommy Haas will face Ernests Gulbis in another enticing first-rounder in Ferrer's quarter.

Main draw play at the 2012 US Open begins Monday.
