Rafael Nadal
(July 4th, 2012) Unfortunately for fans of Rafael Nadal, they may have to wait until the summer hardcourt season to see him back in action on a tennis court.

Nadal has had to pull out of his scheduled exhibition match due to injury versus World No. 1 Novak Djokovic that was planned for after Wimbledon at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Spain.

During his second round loss at Wimbledon to Lukas Rosol, Nadal once again aggravated tendonitis in his knee and has been advised to take several weeks off to recuperate so he can be fresh for the upcoming Summer Games in London.

"I want to apologize to everyone, especially to the fans who had bought lots of tickets for such a great cause," Nadal explained on the Real Madrid's team website. "I have also apologized to Novak Djokovic who selflessly gave up his time to play in this event."

Nadal is hoping to reschedule the "Alma Nadal" event that would be a charity benefit for his foundation.

"I saw the doctors on Monday and began the recovery process to be fit to represent Spain in the London Olympics. We will try to look for a new date for the event," added Nadal.
