Agnieszka Radwanksa 2011

(October 8, 2011) Since being upset in the second round of the US Open, Agnieszka Radwanska has won 10 straight matches, including a title in Tokyo and a berth in the final of the China Open after defeating Flavia Pennetta 6-2, 6-4. She will face German Andrea Petkovic, a 6-2, 6-0 winner over qualifier Monica Niculescu.

A day after taking out World No. 1
Caroline Wozniacki, Pennetta seemed to have no answers for another defensive specialist in Radwanska. The Italian fought off five six break point chances, but was still broken five times in the match.

Radwanska used a consistent serve, hitting 68 percent of first serves, and backed up for game in the tight moments, saving four of six break chances. Pennetta struggled on serve, winning only 49 percent of points on her serve.

Petkovic had an even easier time in her match, breaking the serve of Niculescu seven times in eight attempts. Petkovic struggled slightly on serve, failing to save either of the two break points she faced, but still easily won thanks to winning 73 percent of points on her return.

Radwanska will feel full of confidence going into her second straight final. She holds a perfect 4-0 record over Petkovic, including two wins earlier this year.
