Agnieszka Radwanska will be a flagbearer for Poland at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London
(July 8, 2012) -- After reaching her first ever Wimbledon final, Agnieszka Radwanska has earned yet another honor in her sports career -- she was just announced as Poland's flagbearer for the upcoming Summer Games in London.

Radwanska will be the first Polish woman ever to carry the flag in an Olympic games and her sister Urzsula will join her as they compete in both singles and doubles in the Olympic tennis event.

Other tennis players recently announced as flagbearers include Horia Tecau of Romania and Stephanie Vogt of Lichtenstein. They along with Radwanska join Novak Djokovic (Serbia), Rafael Nadal (Spain), Max Mirnyi (Belarus) and Maria Sharapova (Russia) as the other tennis players selected by their countries to lead their teams during the opening ceremony on July 27th.

Wimbledon champion Roger Federer is on the very short list of candidates to be selected as flag bearer for Switzerland but he has yet to decide if will accept the honor if chosen. Federer was Switzerland's flag bearer at two other Summer Games.
