(January 4, 2010) Top seed and Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick made a promising start to his 2010 campaign with a solid victory over Peter Luczak to reach the second round of the 2010 Brisbane International tennis tournament in Brisbane, Australia.

Roddick started the match under tight circumstances and took the opening set in a closely fought tie-break.

Following the match, Andy Roddick complimented his opponent on a good match, “He (Luczak) had a great game plan tonight. I thought he played great – I was lucky to get out of that first set.

I’m just happy to be back on court, and so happy to be back here in Australia. Australia is my favorite country to come to, and Brisbane’s been great so far.”

In the next round, Andy will face the winner of Carston Ball vs. Mischa Zverev.
