Sabine Lisicki (July 2, 2013) -- A day after pulling a stunning upset to defeat five-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams, 23-year-old Sabine Lisicki defeated Kaia Kanepi of Estonia, 6-3, 6-3, to reach the second Wimbledon semifinal of her career.

“The experience I have from the last three times I've played here in the quarters, I think it helped me a lot,” said Lisicki. “I had great challenges on the way to the semis, so I think it made me ready.

Lisicki, playing less than 24 hours after her victory over Williams, broke Kanepi's serve in the first game and did not face a break point en route to taking the first set in 33 minutes.

After the players exchanged breaks early in the second set, Lisicki broke again midway through the second set, jumped out to a 5-2 lead, then served the match out for her 18th career Wimbledon victory against only four losses.

Kanepi has been to five Grand Slam quarterfinals in her career, losing all five.

When asked if she now feels pressure to cash in on her heroics and win the whole tournament, Lisicki said “No pressure, because it's a game I love so much and want to keep it that way.”

The German has defeated the WTA's No. 1 player in Wimbledon's round of 16 in back-to-back years. She owns five career wins against top five players, and four of them have come at Wimbledon.

Lisicki will face Agneiszka Radwanska in the semifinals.
