(May 27, 2010) Serena Williams is busy trying to win her second French Open title, and the World No. 1 could be playing the singles field after the French Open concludes.

Serena and her boyfriend of two years, rapper and actor Common, have split up after two years together, according to In Touch Weekly.

"They just grew apart," an unnamed "friend" of the 38-year-old Common's told the weekly.

Serena and Common appeared together for the April premiere of "Date Night" in New York City. Serena, who has an apartment in Paris, has spent recent weeks in Europe playing Rome and Madrid in preparation for the French Open.

The 12-time Grand Slam champion rarely publicly discusses her relationship with Common.

Just two weeks ago, Common told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres he felt ready to get married and start a family when asked if he would marry Serena.

"I definitely want to get married. I would love to get married and have kids," Common told DeGeneres.

"Serena's a great woman. She's a beautiful woman and an incredible person," Common said. "Actually I gotta give her some love because she and Venus are number one and number two in the world right now."
