(May 28, 2010) Serena Williams is spending her time making plans to renovate the kitchen of her Paris apartment. Williams wasted no time in deconstructing Julia Goerges, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the French Open third round.

In a concise, clean effort on Court Suzanne Lenglen, the World No. 1 hit 13 winners against only four unforced errors in thrashing the 77th-ranked German in 55 minutes.

The routine win sends the 2002 champion into a third-round match with 29th-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who defeated American Jill Craybas 6-4, 6-1.

"I feel good," said Williams. "I got to the semis in Rome and didn't do so well in Madrid but we (with sister Venus) did win doubles there."

The Williams sisters squared off in the 2002 final. Venus Williams regained the World No. 2 ranking, giving the sisters the top two spots in the world rankings for the first time in seven years. Serena said Venus' rise to No. 2 is a stress reliever.

"The stressful side of our life was around the draw and seeing when we might play," Serena said. "Now I can worry about other things."

Serena said she continues to draw satisfaction from proving skeptics wrong.

"(Holding the top two spots) it's pretty cool. When I first found out we'll be No. 1 and 2 again it was cool, because some people said we would never be No. 1 and 2 again, and I was like, In your face," Serena said. "Not only that, but we're doing so well in doubles. We have a couple of checks off that list, too. We're having so much fun at this time of my career, and you know, we just feel good. Feel like, Okay, this is good. We're doing the best we can, and we're enjoying every moment."
