Sharapova Withdraws from Rogers Cup

The 2012 Summer Games silver medalist will be replaced in the draw by Galina Voskoboeva.

(August 8, 2012) -- Maria Sharapova withdrew from the Rogers Cup in Montreal today, announcing that she had picked up a stomach ailment at the London Olympics. 

The third-seeded Russian, who would have had a chance to take over the WTA Tour's No. 1 ranking if she had played, was replaced in the draw by Galina Voskoboeva.
