(February 8th, 2012) Bernard Tomic
may be keeping his focus on Australia's upcoming Davis Cup tie against China this weekend, but he's having a hard time getting past his recent run-in with police over his aggressive driving that led to a standoff outside his home on Australia Day. But don't expect to see Tomic's now infamous "P-plate" orange BMW sportscar zipping along the streets of Queensland anytime soon as the Australian star put up his car for auction.

Tomic's car attracted huge interest from car dealers and collectors for its mint condition, low mileage and of course its famous owner. But unfortunately for Tomic it may have been his hubris that ended up costing him in the end.

Despite having several bidders, the auction price failed to meet the $200,000 reserve put up for it, only reaching $140,000 at the end of bidding. Negotiations are ongoing to sell the car, but Tomic may still end up with it on his hands even though he has vowed never to drive in Australia again.

Tomic is scheduled to appear in court over his speeding offences which forced him out of playing in next week's SAP Open in San Jose, California.
