(September 22, 2012) -- When you are World No. 87 and have a name that is difficult to spell, things can quickly go awry on the other side of globe (where very few people speak Vandeweghe-ese). Such is life when you are the seventeeth seed in the singles qualifying draw in Tokyo. But for a young and talented player on the rise like Coco Vandeweghe (who lost to Camila Giorgi in qualifying), mispellings will surely be the exception rather than the norm in the very near future.
