Watch: Ferrer Challenges Janowicz for 2013's Top Meltdown

By Chris Oddo

(March 9, 2013) -- Jerzy Janowicz took the early lead in the race for the best tennis meltdown of 2013 when he coined the now infamous phrase "HOW MANY TIMES?" many, many times.

But a month and a half later David Ferrer has come up with a meltdown worthy of consideration for tirade of the year as well. During the second set of his 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 loss to Kevin Anderson at the BNP Paribas Open, Ferrer took offense to a call that really should have gone his way. So he headed to the chair, throwing in a few nicely timed F-bombs when he got there (with the camera in his face: nice work, cameraman), and mixed in some of his native tongue to spice things up. The second "I can't believe" was was a really nice editorial touch, in our opinion.

Ferrer didn't get down on his knees in supplication like Janowicz did in Australia, but his cadence and his fire are spectacular throughout this tirade. Judging from the reaction of the crowd, Ferrer's theatrics were well received, too.

We still think Janowicz has the edge, but kudos to Ferrer for pushing him. What do you think?
