Once again, a new year will bring in a new coach for Caroline Wozniacki.

As first reported by the Danish news website, Ekstra Bladet, Wozniacki abruptly ended her three-month coaching relationship with Thomas Hogstedt. Per the report, Wozniacki claimed a lack of chemistry with Hogstedt after working with him for only two tournaments. When Hogstedt took an unexpected vacation last week instead of traveling to train with Wozniacki in Dubai, that proved the final blow to the unhappy pairing.

Hogstedt coached Maria Sharapova before they separated on amicable terms last year.

This is not the first brief coaching alliance for the former No. 1. In early 2012, Wozniacki hired and then fired Ricardo Sanchez after working with him for only two months. The Danish star cited communication issues with Sanchez who himself later said he was never allowed to have full input on coaching decisions with Wozniacki's father, Piotr, in the picture.

Wozniacki also worked with Thomas Johansson in 2012 but ended the partnership months later.

On Thursday, Ekstra Bladet reported that Michael Mortensen will take over the coaching duties for Wozniacki. Mortensen, who is also Danish, is best known for helping Li Na win her first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros back in 2011.

"He has a very positive attitude to both the game and the training, and he has a good way of saying things. He is passionate about the sport and I like that. It is very motivating," Wozniacki said about the new partnership.

Currently ranked outside the top 10, Wozniacki lost in the third round of the Australian Open to Spain's Garbine Muguruza. Wozniacki is next scheduled to compete at the upcoming tournament in Dubai.
