Roger Federer helped a fan after she fell with a hug and a photo. Though considered underdogs, Andy Murray says he has confidence over beating Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer says Novak Djokovic has the pressure of obtaining the number one ranking. Lauren Lynch reports the latest news at the French Open men’s semifinals and women’s doubles final. Rafael Nadal beat Andy Murray to race Roger Federer for another Grand Slam title at Roland Garros. Federer ended Djokovic’s 41-0 streak and chance at breaking McEnroe’s record. After an exhausting 3 weeks, Maria Sharapova reported sick and will not play in Birmingham. Chris Evert will join the ESPN commentators for the upcoming majors. Francesca Schiavone will face Li Na tomorrow to defend her title.

James Waterson reports on the latest news from Roland Garros. Li Na became China’s first Grand Slam singles champion after she defeated Francesca Schiavone 6-4, 7-6 (0). Meanwhile, the second-seeded team of Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor overcame Eduardo Schwank and Juan Sebastian Cabal, the team who upset the Bryan brothers in the semifinals. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will rekindle their Grand Slam rivalry tomorrow, and Bjorn Fratangelo, a 17-year-old who trains in Florida, will try to be the first American junior to win the French Open since John McEnroe did in 1977. Finally, Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova and Marion Bartoli have withdrawn from their pre-Wimbledon warm-up tournaments, and Andy Murray is doubtful for Queen’s.

Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick are close in the ATP rankings. The men are competing at the AEGON Championships at the Queen’s Club in London and the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany. On the women’s side, Caroline Wozniacki is the top seed in Copenhagen, and she leads a field that includes Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova. In Birmingham, Kaia Kanepi, Ana Ivanovic and Peng Shuai are the top seeded players. Andy Murray creates a new and funny Head tennis ad.

James Ward, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Andy Murray, and Andy Roddick move to the semifinals at Queen's Club. Tsonga upset Rafael Nadal. Tomas Berdych, Philip Petzschner, Philipp Kohlschreiber, and Gael Monfils are in the semis at Gerry Weber. Ana Ivanovic and Daniela Hantuchova are in the semis of Birmingham.

James Waterson reports on the latest news from the pre-Wimbledon warm-up events. Andy Murray became the first Briton since before World War 2 to win more than one title at London’s Queen’s Club, and Sabine Lisicki powered her way through Daniela Hantuchova to take the title in Birmingham. While the rain fell in England on Sunday, Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, his opponent in the final, played a friendly game of ping pong, which Tsonga apparently won. Meanwhile, opening round play began at tournaments at s’-Hertogenbosch and Eastbourne Monday. The Williams sisters have returned to the tour, and Venus started well with a great win over Andrea Petkovic.

There were no big upsets but some good matches. Venus has been wearing an interesting outfit selection and she explains her fashion. Lauren Lynch reports the latest news from Wimbledon Day 8 and Tennis. Marion Bartoli was upset by German wildcard Sabine Lisicki 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-1. Maria Sharapova dominated the 24th seed Dominika Cibulkova in an hour on Tuesday, 6-1, 6-1. NBA basketball player and fiance, Sasha Vujacic, cheerd her on in the stands for her win. Petra beat Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-2. Victoria Azarenka advanced over Tamira Paszek 6-3, 6-1. Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Beatrice of York came to watch with golf’s US Open winner Rory McIlroy. Spain’s and the USA’s Davis Cup teams for the quarterfinals were announced but included Wimbledon quarterfinalists Feliciano Lopez and Mardy Fish, and Novak Djokovic for Spain but Rafael Nadal declined.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga came back from a two-set deficit to defeat six-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic beat 18-year-old Bernard Tomic of Australia and needs only one more win to become the new World No. 1, and Andy Murray will face Rafael Nadal in the semifinals.
