(July 19, 2010) Tennis' marathon man returns to tournament tennis tonight, but this time John Isner will only have to cover half of the court.

The former Georgia Bulldog all American returns to his collegiate roots as Isner will play his first ATP match since Wimbledon when he partners James Blake against Robby Ginepri and Ryan Sweeting at the Atlanta Tennis Championships.

Isner and Nicolas Mahut took tennis to new heights in engaging in an epic 11 hour, 5-minute Wimbledon first-round match that made its mark as the longest match in tennis history. The euphoria and exhaustion of that experience has subsided a bit, but the record-setting match continues to command attention as Isner received the award for Best Record Breaking Performance at last week's ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.

Isner typically plays doubles with Sam Querrey, but Querrey is not playing Atlanta. The 6'-9" Isner said he hasn't seen Mahut since they pushed each other into tennis history.

"I actually haven't seen him since the match. I spoke to him briefly, but that's about it," Isner said.

Blake and Isner and Ginepri and Sweeting are two of four all-American teams in the 16-team Atlanta doubles draw. Andy Roddick is partnering long-time friend and former Boca Raton housemate Mardy Fish and Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram are playing together.

In singles, Blake will face off against Taylor Dent in an all-American first-round match.
