The sun has set on Simona Halep's Miami Open.

Former world No. 1 Halep officially withdrew from the tournament today due to a left thigh injury.

The 30-year-old Halep advanced to the Indian Wells semifinals last week bowing to eventual-champion Iga Swiatek 7-6(6), 6-4 in a physical semifinal.

Rogers Cup champion Camila Giorgi has also pulled out of Miami with a right wrist injury.
