Iga Swiatek won’t be playing the Billie Jean King Cup in November, citing difficult scheduling issues that make it nearly impossible for her to attend.

The World No.1 has been adamant on the subject before, and on Monday she took to social media to state her case again.

“I was thinking it through a lot and discussing it with my team all over again,” wrote Swiatek on Instagram, adding: “but I will not be able to play at the Billie Jean King Cup in Glasgow.”

Swiatek, who has already played 64 matches this season, will be participating in the WTA Finals in Fort Worth on the week before the BJK Cup finals, which are slated to take place from November 13-20.

She says the travel is just too much to ask.

And she wants the ITF and the WTA to consider the difficulties when they plan out future schedules.

“I’m disappointed that tennis’ governing bodies didn’t come to an agreement on something as basic as the calendar of the tournaments, giving us only one day to travel through the globe and changing the time zone,” she wrote. “This situation is not safe for our health and could cause injury.

“I’m going to talk to the WTA and ITF in order to change something.”

Top-ranked Swiatek is currently in Ostrava, Czech Republic, where she is the top seed at the AGEL Open. She will face Ajla Tomljanovic in the second round (after a bye).
