Sorribes Tormo upset world No. 52 and No. 4 seed Kristina Mladenovic, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, to claim her first top 100 win of the season. The 19-year-old Spaniard is into her first career quarterfinal and will face Tig, who defeated No. 6 seed Kirsten Flipkens, 6-4, 6-4.

The victory was Tig’s best on a hard court this season. The 22-year-old is into her second quarterfinal of the year. She upset Daria Kasatkina, Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys this spring en route to her first quarterfinal of the season in Madrid.
