Tsurenko raised her record in WTA finals to 3-0.

"I'm really happy to start the season like this: I had the semifinal in Hobart International and now this title here in Acapulco," Tsurenko told WTATennis.com afterward. "It's three of three now, it's a 100 percent result for me and this makes me very happy. I'm very happy with this result, and to win the title here it's just amazing."

The victory caps a week in which the 27-year-old Ukrainian did not surrender a set in five tournament victories.

The return game was a key component to success. Tsurenko won 14 of 21 points played on Mladenovic's second serve and converted seven of eight break points.

Tsurenko stormed out to a 4-0 lead on the strength of two breaks after just 15 minutes of play.

The world No. 50 never looked back rolling through the opening set.

The second-seeded Mladenovic snatched a 5-4 second set lead. Tsurenko answered with three straight games to wrap up an 80-minute victory.
