Kei Nishikori was bundled out of the US Open by Australia’s Alex De Minaur, 6-2 6-4 2-6 6-3.

It was a disappointing day for Nishikori, who made 60 unforced errors, and a milestone day for De Minaur, who won for the first time against a Top 10 player in 11 tries and reached the second week at a major for the first time.

"This is where I feel like my game's at," de Minaur said after the match. "I want to be pushing these guys, I want to be pushing second weeks of Grand Slams and putting myself out there. So very happy."

It was a first-time meeting for the pair. Nishikori is the fifth Top 10 seed to fall on the ATP side, joining No.4 Dominic Thiem, No.8 Stefanos Tsitsipas, No.9 Karen Khachanov and No.10 Roberto Bautista Agut.

De Minaur move on to face either Grigor Dimitrov or Kamil Majchrzak.
