Brandon Nakashima overwhelmed Francesco Passaro 4-3(4), 4-2, 4-1 to reach the semifinals at the Next Gen ATP Finals for the second straight year.

Give Brandon Nakashima an hour and he'll give you victory.

World No. 49 Nakashima overwhelmed Italian Francesco Passaro 4-3(4), 4-2, 4-1 and muted the Italian crowd to reach the semifinals at the Next Gen ATP Finals.

It's the second straight year Nakashima has powered into the Milan semifinals.




This week, he's done it growing progressively stronger with each match.

Nakashima clocked 17 winners in a confident performance. It took Nakashima just 61 minutes to move into the semifinals.

“I know he has had a great year this year. I thought my level was really high today,” Nakashima said. “It was nice to see it carrying over from yesterday. To come out and play like that was super special.”

The 21-year-old San Diego native, who beat Marcos Giron for his maiden ATP title in San Diego in September, wins the Green Group with an undefeated record to move on to the final four.

Nakashima will player either Italian Lorenzo Musetti or Briton Jack Draper in the semifinals tomorrow.

Group runner-up Jiri Lehecka will meet Red Group winner Dominic Stricker.
