Jannik Sinner – all he does is win.
The defending champion opened his 2025 campaign with yet another straight sets victory, 7-6(2), 7-6(5), 6-1 over Chile’s Nicolas Jarry to stretch his personal winning streak to 15 matches. Sinner, who has not lost since falling to Carlos Alcaraz at Beijing in October, has now won his last 29 sets.

The 23-year-old was forced to find some stellar tennis by Jarry, who forced him to tiebreaks in the first and second set but could not land a critical blow in either.
"He was playing really, really well, to be honest," Sinner told reporters. "Especially serving incredibly good in important moments. Also from the back of the court he was returning really well, playing aggressive. I could have also lost the first couple of sets. You never know."
Instead it was the Italian who slowly took the life out of Jarry and he went in for the kill in the final set, breaking open the match with a dominant set to conclude the match in cruise control.
Two-time Grand Slam champion Sinner will face either Tristan Schoolkate or Taro Daniel in the second round.
Jarry hit 40 winners to 24 for Sinner on the day, but the Chilean made 50 unforced errors while Sinner committed just 12. The World No.1 saved both break points (both in the seventh game of the opening set) he faced and won 83 percent of his first-serve and 70 percent of his second-serve points – he lost just 10 points on his first serve and 23 points on serve overall.
