Serena Williams is celebrating the start of her 200th week at No. 1 today, as well as enjoying the beginning of her 76th consecutive week as the WTA’s top-ranked player, and to honor the fact we’ll take a look at where the 17-time Grand Slam champion stands in relation to some of the game’s greats, both male and female.

Thanks to WTA Media for the stats.

Consecutive Weeks at No. 1: Williams has tied Chris Evert for the 8th-longest streak of consecutive weeks at No. 1. She took over the WTA's top spot last February and has held it ever since. If Serena can hang on to it through the end of the year, she’ll have passed Chrissie, Martina Hingis, Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Monica Seles to own the fourth-longest streak of weeks at No. 1 all-time. Chris Evert will be her next target after that. Check the table below for complete details.

As far as cumulative weeks at No. 1 go, Williams ranks fifth all-time among her fellow WTA players, trailing Martina Hingis by 9 weeks, Chris Evert by 60, Martina Navratilova by 132 and Steffi Graf by 177. Hingis is certainly within reach (Serena will pass her in early October), and maybe Chrissie, too. But after that Serena will have some work to do.

Only eight players, male or female have spent more time at No. 1 than Serena Williams.
