Top Americans Headline DC Open Men’s Singles Draw

The top American men will battle for supremacy at the DC Open, where Frances Tiafoes hopes to shine on his hometown stage next week.

Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Learner Tien, and Frances Tiafoe are among the eight seeds in this year’s DC Open draw, while four more Americans – Alex Michelsen, Brandon Nakashima, Tommy Paul and Ethan Quinn feature in the stacked 32-player field.

That’s before six qualifiers are placed on Sunday evening (already Martin Damm has made it through).

In addition to the Americans, fans can look forward to seeing plenty of big names on the men’s side.

Alex de Minaur is the top seed, Roland Garros semifinalists Jakub Mensik (seeded seventh) and Matteo Arnaldi are in the mix along with Lorenzo Musetti (seeded fourth); former champion Kei Nishikori will make his last appearance as a wild card and Arthur Fils and Rafael Jodar will face each other in a high-powered first-round clash of rising talents.
