I stumbled across this really cool fundraising effort for the Chilean earthquake victims. Fernando Gonzalez signed a racquet that is now being raffled off by Tennis Express at $10 per ticket.

I have heard that the errupting Icelandic volcano is officially the worst natural disaster as far as aviation is concerned and is hurting airlines in a major way. I personally have a family member stuck in the UK for an extra week- I am sure people are having to get creative. I have read that several sports teams have had to take to traveling in buses but what about the huge number of international tennis players who have tournaments around the world!  Airlines over the weekend are said to have had to cancel over 17,000 flights- yikes. Seventeen-year old IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy student, Michelle Larcher de Brito, won her first round match at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston yesterday. Larcher de Brito beat Vesna Manasieva 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 and will face either Patty Schnyder or Chanelle Scheepers in the second round.
