Tennis birthdays for the week of April 5-12.
 

April 5 - Two-time Australian Open men's singles winner Johan Kriek turns 56. Kirek won down under in 1981 and 1982 and reached No. 7 in the world in 1984. He won 14 singles titles in all and also won eight doubles crowns. He beat American Steve Denton in both Australian Open finals.

April 7 - World No. 27 Sorana Cirstea turns 24. The Bucharest, Romania native had her best season in 2013, reaching the Toronto final and climbing to a career-high No. 21 in the rankings.
 
April 12 - Spain's Marcel Granollers Pujol, currently ranked No. 5 in the world in men's doubles, turns 28. He has nine doubles titles, including the 2012 ATP Finals, and four singles titles to his credit. He's currently ranked 51st in the world in singles, having reached as high as No. 19.
 
Jelena Dokic, a former Top 10 player in both singles and doubles, turns 31. Dokic has played while representing three different countries: Yugoslavia (2001-2003); Serbia & Montenegro (2003-2005) and Australia (2006-present). She has six career singles titles and four doubles titles. She reached No. 4 in the world in singles in August of 2002 and No. 10 in doubles that same February.
