There won't be a Williams sisters Fed Cup reunion this weekend.

Venus Williams has withdrawn from the United States' Fed Cup tie against host Italy due to an undisclosed personal matter.

World No. 57 Lauren Davis has replaced Venus on the U.S. squad, the USTA announced.

Davis, who upset Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard en route to the Charleston quarterfinals last week, joins world No. 1 Serena Williams, No. 45 Alison Riske and No. 65 Christina McHale for the World Group Playoff tie on the red clay of Brindisi, Italy.

Sara Errani, Flavia Pennetta, Camila Giorgi and Karin Knapp lead Italy, which is facing the United States for the fourth time in the last six years. Italy has won all four of those meetings, including back-to-back finals in 2009 and 2010.
