Serena Williams sits down with journalist Gayle King to talk tennis, love and motherhood (see full video above). During the chat the 23-time Grand Slam champion opens up about the fact that she accidentally revealed her pregnancy on SnapChat.

“You know how social media is,” Williams said. “You press the wrong button and…”

Williams claimed that the announcement was coming soon, but not that soon. She told King that she got the news two days before the Australian Open, and she was not sure if she’d be able to play or not.

The conversation meandered to the topic of Serena’s potential comeback and the 35-year-old, who will turn 36 in September, says she is confident she’ll be coming back next season.

“I’m always trying to defy the odds,” she said. “For me everything is really mental. I definitely plan on coming back, I’m not done yet. I’m really inspired by my sister, she’s a year older than me—if she’s still playing I know I can play.

“My story is definitely not over yet. I was talking to my coach about it and we were talking about how this is just a new part of my life. My baby is going to be in the stands, hopefully cheering for me and not crying too much.”
