Andy Murray shared the following highlight with the the caption: “I still got wheels.” The three-time major champ isn’t kidding.
Murray had plenty of early struggles but eventually eased past Aussie James Duckworth and into the second round in his first major appearance in over a year.
“I felt a little bit slow at the beginning,” he said. “And then the positive was that actually towards the end of the match, I made some quite good moves. Like the second to the last point of the match, I moved pretty quickly up to the drop volley and stuff and kind of maintained my serving speeds throughout the match, as well. So there was some good stuff, but I think I can get better.”
Murray will need to keep his running shoes on for round two. He faces Spain’s Fernando Verdasco next.
