The International Tennis Hall of Fame announced that for the first time in its 64-year history, fans will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the next class of Hall of Famers.

This year there are eight candidates from around the world in the Player Category on the Hall of Fame ballot.

The nominees will be announced this Wednesday August 22nd.

“I think it’s terrific to get the fans involved in the Hall of Fame voting process,” said ITHF Global Ambassador and Class of 2017 Hall of Famer Kim Clijsters. “Being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame was such a special highlight of my career.

"It is a huge honor for any athlete. To have the recognition come from peers, members of the media, and now the fans who are such dedicated supporters throughout our careers will make it really special for the incoming Hall of Famers."
