A souvenir is one thing. But getting a racquet straight from the bag of a man who just cracked an historical milestone, that’s entirely another.

That’s what happened to this young boy on Sunday in Cincinnati just moments after Novak Djokovic wrapped up his 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Roger Federer to become the first player to earn the Career Golden Masters.


"The golden racquet” replied one fan on Twitter.

Indeed.

Credit to Djokovic for this random act of kindness. He can be pretty intense on the court, but when the battle is finished his true colors shine.


And, it’s not the first time that the Serb has pulled out a brand new racquet and handed it to a young fan. He did it earlier this spring in Rome, much to the delight of this Italian boy:
