Uncle Toni Nadal, Carlos Moya and Rafa himself send their greetings to Ruud.
The 19-year-old Ruud, regarded as one of the quickest teens on tour, played through qualifying to reach the second round at both the Australian Open and Roland Garros this season. Ruud defeated David Ferrer en route to the Bastad quarterfinals last month.
Ruud, who cites "Fedal" and Simona Halep as his favorite players, spent four days training with world No. 1 Nadal in May of 2017.
Ruud said Nadal's "great intensity on court and his humility" were two qualities that impressed him. He can look forward to more practice-court battles with the 17-time Grand Slam champion.
