Second Serve

Coco Gauff caused quite a stir earlier this summer when she qualified for Wimbledon and raced into the second week at the All England Club, becoming the youngest player to do so since 1991.

At this year’s U.S. Open the 15-year-old will skip the qualifying and focus on the main draw.

Gauff was handed a main draw wild card at the U.S. Open, and the American is joined by three teenagers – 17-year-olds Whitney Osuigwe, Caty McNally and Katie Volynets—as well as 16-year-old Diane Parry of France.

Also earning wild cards were American Francesca Di Lorenzo, Kristie Ahn and 2011 champion Sam Stosur.
